Thanksgiving road-trip activities for kids

US Thanksgiving falls on November 26 in 2026. If your family will be driving, prepare a few flexible activity choices before travel week.

Print before the packing rush

Try a seasonal pair

Ask each willing passenger to choose one small moment from a previous journey. Give it a title as if it were a picture. Anyone who prefers to draw can save a sketch for a stop. The driver does not need to join the conversation game.

Keep one quiet choice

A page of dots, lines and loops makes a simple pencil option. An imaginary museum can hold four unusual souvenirs. Both work without a holiday theme and can be stopped halfway through. There is no requirement to make every activity about Thanksgiving.

Choose something for the return trip
